Kills have a cooldown of 10 60 seconds and a kill distance of short normal and long depending on game settings. As soon as the kill button lights up they can press it no matter how far or close the crewmate is.

At any moment the player can be killed. The impostors goal is to sabotage the tasks and kill the crewmates until their number is equal to the number of impostors. The primary goal of the crewmate is to complete all tasks while not being killed by the impostor with the secondary goal being finding the impostor and kicking them off the ship.

Impostors have a special ability that they can use to sabotage the crewmates. Crewmates who have been killed by an impostor become ghosts. Crewmates can be killed from a distance as well. The level of anxiety that comes along with playing among us is colossal.

In the game players are assigned a role as either a crewmate or an impostor. A good part of the game is dedicated toward kicking out players which means impostor players may want to tilt things in their favor by leaving less skilled players alive since they are less likely to determine an impostor s identity. An impostor has the ability to kill a crewmate.
